VENDOR OF THE WEEK: WILD SPIRIT ACRES.
Marie-Joseè always had a huge garden to provide food for her family, but two years ago was when she started selling at the market, Wild spirit acres was born. Gardening is a passion of hers even if sometime it's a big challenge to manage the farm, the garden and the kids. Being outside under the sun, the rain, the frost. Marie-Joseè feels that she is doing something good for the community. That why she does it. Food is medicine.
Growing our own food it's essential for our future, she hates hearing that this valley is not suited for agriculture. If you give it a try, some good techniques to increase the life in the ground, we can grow a lot of food here. She is inspired by permaculture, mulching to reduce the use of water, working the dirt in a way to increase the earthworm population and every year trying some news techniques, like growing on hay bale. The gourds and basil love it. At Wild Spirit Acre they don't use any chemical; we did it naturally 100 years ago why can't we now. We just have to learn that vegetable are not suppose to be perfect like those in the store.
You can find Marie-Joseè every Saturday at the Spirit Square Market from 10-3.
